Participation in Pre-Grant Orientation session

Recently, Mr. Aftab Jan participated in a Pre-Grant Orientation session organized by Aurat Foundation for its Gender Equity Programme 10th Cycle on Strengthening and Consolidating GEP’s Pakistan Gender Coalition. 



Irrigation channel construction in Charsadda

AHD constructed 1275 ft long irrigational channel in the flood affected village of Dang Qala, UC Mirzadher, Tehsil Tangi of District Charsadda thus benefiting the local farmers. Chairman AHD inaugurated the handing over ceremony of irrigation channel. 



Provision of safe drinking water

AHD installed 10 hand pumps for provide safe drinking water to the flood affected communities of Charsadda by following WHO standards for water safety for drinking purpose. These hand pumps were installed at communal level for a larger benefit of the community. These hand pumps were installed on a raised ground keeping in view the disaster related to flood. All the community members appreciated and acknowledged the support of AHD. 



Provision of Water and Sanitation (WASH) facilities in Charsadda

Recently a ceremony on the provision of safe sanitation facilities (35 latrines) handing over was organized in District Charsadda with the participation of community members, district government representatives and staff. All the community members appreciated the work of AHD and acknowledged the fact that the quality of the construction and design was very unique and disaster resistant.  



Project Closing Ceremony organized in Islamabad

Association for Human Development has successfully completed 13 months project titled “Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction in Charsadda” with the financial support of Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe – Germany in District Charsadda. A lesson learnt workshop was organized in Islamabad with the representation of various humanitarian workers, donor community, appreciated the efforts and encouraged AHD to implement and plan projects of this type of nature for the vulnerable population affected by the natural disasters.

Message From Chairman

Earnest support by partners and friends enabled AHD, to perform well and achieve new heights of excellence and qualitative service delivery.  In this reported time period we have been able to successfully complete five projects with the financial and technical support of Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ Germany), Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe – Germany, May 18 Memorial Foundation, UN-HABITAT, Commonwealth Foundation and other donor/partners.

Two projects were implemented in Kot Adu Tehsil of District Muzaffargarh located in South Punjab Province of Pakistan. Three projects were implemented in Tehsil Tangi & Charsadda of District Charsadda located in KP province of Pakistan.

AHD staff has shown good performance in project implementation phase, and has been recognized by other implementation partners as experienced staff members’ expert in the field of Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction, Developed Community Based Early Warning System for in Charsadda. Our Staff members have been invited for conducting orientation session for DIPECHO Project.

Mr. Zeeshan Azmat has been given an opportunity to participate in the International Training by DKH on Disaster Risk Reduction in Germany. Which shows great trust and confidence posed by the partner in the skill and capacities of our staff members. AHD has given its staff members’ free opportunities to shine their skills by engaging in innovative activities related to project implementation.  Mr. Aftab Johnson (Project Manager – CBDRR Project) participated in the International Training conducted by Caritas – International on Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction.   

AHD as an organization would like to thank all DKH staff members, especially Chris Fischer, Chris Ball, Alan Cameron, Martin Kessler for trusting us and providing us the opportunities to serve the marginalized and disaster affected communities of Pakistan.

Appeal for Donation to Support Flood Affected Families in Pakistan

This recent hill torrent flood & heavy monsoon rains in Pakistan displaced more than 16 million people and rampered about 51,000 square miles by the disastrous flooding and more than 700,000 homes have been destroyed since the monsoon struck last week - with 2500 lives lost. This situation demands your role to come forward to save the lives of flood affected.

Association for Human Development (AHD) is a national organization working from the very early situation to respond this disaster within its resources. AHD’s main focus is to provide basic health facilities, NFI (non food items)and other emergency needs focusing women, children and special people. We need donations from supporters to help the communities in this disastrous situation.
