Network for Peace & Human Rights

Introduction

Pakistan is among the countries of the world which are facing greatest number of human rights violations, conflict and terrorism more than any other. Since the turn of new millennia it has become increasingly clear that human rights violations are increasing by day, as for the human rights abusers their acts are unchecked and unaccounted for.

Network for Peace & Human Rights (NPHR) is a network of likeminded organizations which have mandate to work on violence against women, human rights, peace building and conflict resolution at grassroots and policy level. The network will work to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of peace and human rights activities by facilitating the coordination and capacity building. The NPHR facilitates its members in learning, knowledge, capacity building and information sharing at different levels.

The network was formed in January 2009. Currently it has 30 members from different parts of the country. The membership is open to NGOs, CBOs and Groups that have clear mandate to work on violence against women, human rights, democracy, peace building and conflict resolution. The network selects its member organization on their past experience and commitment to work on the human rights and peace issues.

All registered NGOs and CBO without any political affiliation may become member of the network.
